Chronic & Acute Pain
There is Hope for Treating Chronic & Acute Pain!
At one time or another, each of us has probably experienced joint and muscle pain. Most of the time it is minor and either resolves itself or responds well to basic interventions such as rest, stretching, ice/heat application, over-the-counter medications, and patience.
However chronic and/or acute pain – generally, pain resulting from injury or chronic and/or severe illness – that doesn’t respond well to basic treatments can affect your lifestyle, making even basic daily functions challenging. Additionally, this kind of pain can impact your coping abilities, mood and emotion, and both short- and long-term outlook on life.
Treating Chronic & Acute Pain
Starting with a thorough physical examination, detailed medical and metabolic history, review of testing (including imaging), and other assessments, plus an in-depth and comprehensive patient interview. Our Doctors will map out a treatment plan designed to alleviate your pain and, when possible, address the underlying cause(s). Additionally, we want to help minimize the need for pain- and/or inflammation-reducing medications.
Our first and foremost goal is to alleviate some or all of your pain as quickly as possible, and many of our patients notice significant improvement after their first visit.
Once your pain has been addressed, we want to help you keep it at bay. This is done through follow-up visits to the office; close communication with the Doctors and staff; and a well-mapped treatment plan that includes feedback.
Treatment plans can include (but are not limited to):
- Chiropractic adjustments to relieve pain and stiffness.
- Neuromuscular rehabilitation to help you regain functional activity.
- Neurological retraining and therapeutic exercises to improve muscle strength and restore function and mobility.
- Dietary adjustments to promote overall health and reduce inflammation.
- Anodyne Light Therapy for drug free pain relief using infrared light
