What to Expect
Any disorder or disease, causing brain dysfunction needs to be addressed with brain-specific rehabilitation.
- Consult and Examination– An opportunity to communicate with the doctors about previous treatments and medical records. The examination process is a thorough full body examination detailing all neurological, orthopedic, and visceral areas to magnify all underlying causes of symptoms.
- Diagnostics– The diagnostic is a quantifiable method to analyze neurological function using a plethora of cutting-edge technologies. Diagnostics equipment includes CAPS vestibular balance, Neurolign, Righteye, Cambridge Brain Sciences, Quantitative Electroencephalogram (QEEG), and Accugraph. The whole diagnostic process and analysis can take 5-6 hours.
- Treatment– Treatment time and length vary based on the findings of the examination and diagnostics. Typical treatments last 1.5 hours and comprise of brain-specific exercises using Gyrostim, Neurosensory Integrator Touch Boards, Braincore Neurofeedback, Oxygen therapy, Erchonia Brain Lasers, etc.
- Clinical Nutrition– If necessary the doctors can analyze metabolic states, food sensitivities, overall gut function, and any nutrition aspects by blood draws, urine samples, saliva samples, stool samples, etc.

What is GyroStim Therapy?
GyroStim is a state-of-the-art, multi-axis rotating chair used to provide vestibular stimulation, stimulating neurons and creating new pathways in the brain. It gyroscopically rotates on multiple axis as you attempt to hit visual targets with your line of sight, strengthening visual and spatial connections. The entire apparatus is computer-controlled and can show participants their strengths and weaknesses, reaction times, and proficiency with hand-eye coordination.
During the session, you’ll use a ‘laser’ to hit targets as they come into your field of vision. The GyroStim will collect this data and adapt it in real-time to continuously challenge you as your skill level increases. A typical GyroStim session typically lasts about 30 minutes total, with runs lasting 30-60 seconds each time.
What is Vestibular Training?
The vestibular system is responsible for accurately understanding the location and orientation of your head. Although that may sound strange, it’s what keeps you balanced, upright, and able to perceive motion and position during activity. Needless to say, it is a fundamental system that supports our daily functions. When this system is compromised, it may require external intervention and training in order to correct itself.
That is where vestibular training therapies are extremely useful! Gyrostim is a state of the art version of vestibular rehabilitation, guided by precision motors and computer-guided software, enabling highly effective and personalized therapy sessions.
GyroStim Therapy + Concussion Rehabilitation
GyroStim therapy is most commonly associated with concussion and traumatic brain injury rehabilitation. The intensity of the vestibular training done in the GyroStim machine can be modified depending on the needs of the patient. At lower levels, GyroStim offers visual-vestibular stimulation and sensorimotor exercises to help patients who’ve suffered a concussion or traumatic brain injury address persistent symptoms and restore lost function. GyroStim therapy can offer so much more than just concussion rehabilitation though.
What Are The Benefits Of Gyrostim?
Experiencing GyroStim in Denver has a number of health benefits that you can’t get anywhere else. This innovative treatment can:
- Improve balance
- Support brain performance
- Increase reaction timing and coordination
- Improve interaction between different functional regions within the brain
- Reduce headaches and migraines

What is Neurofeedback?
Neurofeedback is a tool that experts have developed to allow your brain to visualize the waves associated with thought processes. Your brain operates on an infinitely complex system of neurons and synapses, utilizing different frequencies to convey information throughout your body, as well as trigger physical, emotional and cognitive action. Neurofeedback aims to give your brain a visual representation of these functions as they happen in real-time. You can train your brain to adjust these patterns through a series of mental exercises. The goal you are trying to achieve depends upon what you are trying to change.
Studies conducted by the National Institute of Health indicate a statistically significant improvement in patients with post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD) as well as generalized anxiety disorders (GAD) after incorporating Neurofeedback into their therapy regimen. The specialists at BPS Medical have years of experience in administering effective neurofeedback therapy sessions. Using state-of-the-art technology, the sessions are non-invasive and administered in a calm, supportive environment.

How Neurofeedback Therapy Works
Neurofeedback requires two things, a machine capable of reading and transmitting brain activity and a computer that can turn that information into a visual representation. As mentioned above, neurofeedback therapy is a form of brain training. Essentially, it provides your brain with a visual representation of the wave patterns happening inside your head, in real-time. Doctors use a device called a Quantitative Electroencephalogram (QEEG), which is placed on your head like a cap and tracks your brain wave function. It converts the signals into visual information, which doctors can use to diagnose your condition and recommend the appropriate treatment.
In terms of what you actually see on the screen, there is a range of different methods and outputs that the information can be displayed in. It could be a simple visual, displayed in the form of a ‘video game’. It can also be integrated into music or video applications where the program interrupts when your wave patterns deviate from the desired acceptable range. When your brain is operating in a positive way, the program recognizes that behavior with rewards.
By encouraging proper function, neurofeedback is essentially outsourcing a biological function that the brain is used to. In our everyday lives, our brains reward us for good behavior, by releasing dopamine when we do something that our brain sees as positive, like workout or socializing with friends. As you continue neurofeedback therapy, over time the desired wave pattern will become second nature.
Who Can Benefit From Neurofeedback Therapy?
There is a wide range of potential applications for neurofeedback therapy. The only limit is that it must be used for conditions involving the brain, meaning psychological, cognitive, behavioral, emotional, and performance-based conditions. Neurofeedback therapy has the potential to help patients suffering from the following conditions:
- post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD)
- Attention deficit disorder (ADD or ADHD)
- age-related cognitive decline
- Acquired brain injuries
- Behavioral disorders
Neurofeedback therapy can also be used to supplement your current therapy or treatment programs, as the combination of multiple approaches can produce results faster.
